Overview
Founding partner Mark Hancock is an experienced litigator and has tried numerous cases to verdict. His practice includes defending corporate clients in a diverse range of complex litigation matters, including cases involving large-scale wildfires, construction, transportation, catastrophic personal injuries, and property losses. He handles matters with multi-million dollar exposure in state and federal courts. Mark achieves excellent results for his clients by minimizing litigation costs, by winning dispositive motions, and through effective negotiations.
Prior to forming Gough & Hancock in 2015, Mark was a litigation partner with an international law firm based in San Francisco. Mark’s background includes handling professional liability claims and business-related litigation. He is highly skilled at identifying and incorporating his clients’ business interests into successful litigation strategies.
Mark is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel. Mark has had many speaking engagements and published numerous legal articles, including articles in California Lawyer and the San Francisco Daily Journal. Mark has served as a consultant for the California Education of the Bar (CEB) book on California Civil Discovery Practice.
